Trauma-informed classes for everyone in your family.

What is Trauma-Informed Yoga?

Trauma-Informed yoga classes are rooted in:

  • Present Moment Awareness

  • Choice Making

  • Taking Effective Action

  • Creating Rhythms

They are classes designed for everyone . They’re inclusive in that they recognize that everyone, including those who have experienced trauma, can benefit from having more choice, feeling empowered, practicing being in the present moment, and finding their own supportive rhythms.

Instead of focusing on performing poses solely as a way to get fit and flexible, these classes move through poses (called asanas) and other practices with the purpose of re-connecting with the body, mind, and spirit — to whatever level you’re comfortable with.

Instead of everyone doing the same thing at the same time or believing that a practice needs to look a certain way, trauma-informed classes are designed to help you practice in a way that’s right for you. Creating a space to perhaps grow your strength, balance, flexibility, or stamina in a relaxed & supportive space. They’re about finding your own personal grounding and alignment.

A teacher is present to share a practice and offer support, but you’re the one leading the way. No one’s practice will look the same, and that is celebrated!

It’s a more individualized approach than what you might be used to seeing.

This is your time — to connect with yourself, to be curious about what you might need in the moment, and to make the choices that are best for you. Finding the rhythms that will support you both on and off the mat.
